Original WW2 British Army Camouflage Windproof Trousers 1943 Brush stroke Size No1. The windproof is made from a lightweight gabardine which has the camouflaged pattern screen printed onto it.
No rips or tears, near mint condition, It has 2 slash hip pockets and one cargo pocket on left thigh closing with a one buttoned flap. It also has a seat and knee reinforcement. Leg ties are tab and button type. The waist has a broad fabric draw string and 2 elastic waist makeups on the waist. 2 buttons broken in halve, Great color. Waist measures 36" and inseam 30".A rare original British Army 'Smock, Windproof Camouflage' dated 1944.
This pattern of smock was introduced in 1943 and saw widespread issue during 1944 and 1945 with a variety of units. Based on the same design as the earlier denim, drab and snow smocks; these camouflaged examples also proved popular in the post-war period and were used by French forces amongst others.
The windproof uses brown colored vegetable ivory (plastic) buttons.
